Rate has nothing to do with pyramiding. You can get fast even growth without pyramiding if the conditions are right. Other health problems might occur with rapid growth but pyramiding in not a result of rapid growth. It is sometimes associated with rapid growth but...
I have a sulcata that has doubled in size in one year 2 to 4 inches with excellent growth. If the tortoise is kept warm all year and fed a good balanced diet it can probably reach that size in a couple of years. But if you are feeding a high fiber low protien diet this should not be a concern. It will grow at it's own rate. Trying to force growth is a no-no. (although I really can't see how you can do this with the proper diet)

: How long will it take for a 3.5" sulcatta to reach 10inches under proper conditions? What is the maximum growth rate without shell pyramiding occuring?
