A sulcata is a good first tortoise. They are very easy but they do get large. Another is any of the Greek or Hermanns tortoises is another good starter.
: i currently have a three toed and eastern box turtle (well the eastern really belongs to assatuege island state park but i take care of it in the off season) anyway im going to a herp show to hopefully get a tortoise what would be a good begginer species ?
