:Aspen shavings are commonly used for a bedding in rodent cages. Aspen looks similar to Cedar except it is a pale blond in color and not dark like Cedar. Cedar has a strong, pleasant aroma, but is toxic to most animals so it is unsuitable to use for tortoises. Aspen has a milder aroma and is completely non toxic.
If you have a pet-store nearby you can probably find Aspen shavings there. Most pet-stores sell them.
But remember---Aspen good, Cedar bad.
