If you are confused now just wait until you look into it further. The Galapogos is one of those high profile animals that is getting a great deal of scrytiny. With that comes a great deal of controversy or really uncertanty. If you are really interested in this pick up Pritchards book on the galapagos. It is not very expensive and it is very interesting.
: I'm confused about the taxonomy of the Galapagos tortoise. Some call it Geochelone elephantopus and some call it Geochelone nigra. Are they one and the same?
