My hatchlings meals are supplemented with calcium carbonate at every meal. Cuttlebone is always available. The only thing you have to worry about is if you use a supplement with D3 in it. Try your best to use a UV source instead of the D3. Then you don't have to worry about too much calcium. The calcium requirement for hatchlings seems to be very high. Keep in mind that pancake tortoise shells are normally relatively soft though.
: Hi all. I just had a baby pancake tortoise hatch out 4 weeks ago. He is really cute, he is doing really well, he has been eatgin dandelions, and clovers, and clover flowers, grass, and other dark green veggies.
: My question is, how often should a baby pancake diet be supplemented with caclium and vitamins at 4 weeks of age?
: I hope someone can offer me some help.
: Thanks, Cindy.
