Tortoise Shell

How do you know when the something is wrong with the shell?
Shell Rot?
Pyramiding?
Does the shell curve up at the ends or does the bottom look different or do the plates just like raise up?
Don't get alarmed, I don't see anything like this on mine, but I wanted to know and some of the sites I have been too are not real specific... Thanks
