Yes, he gets more worked up if he is seperated for awhile. It's the female I worry about. The male is very aggressive while the female is almost never interested. I saw one successful mating last year followed by 3 unfertile eggs.
This male has mated with another female this year, so I'm hoping for more eggs in a few weeks.
