Before you continuing throwing tems like "b/s" around, EJ - suggest you attempt - and I use the word deliberately - to understand the implications of the following:-

Predictably, I hear you scream "Its about cows! Not tortoises!". Yes, we noticed. However we are dealing with very, very similar biochemistry here and despite the fact that you appear to be having a very hard time grasping the fact that a tortoise (some species in particular, for example G. pardalis and G. sulcata) really is very similar to a cow in a shell, there is much that can be learned from studying comparative biology.
Furthermore, as pointed out earlier, all recent data on the digstive tract physiology and biology of chelonia only strengthens the parallels.
No doubt this is all B/S too.... oh, well... at least this is a relevant form of dismissal considering we are comparing cattle with tortoises!
