Laura O. Your right. I have been caught up in the economics and conservation aspects of this whole thing. I have been particularly annoyed by the number of obviously naive tortoise peddlers out there now who are totally misrepresenting what they have. This whole spider thing is way out of control and my use of the word junk was to caution potential customers as to the fact that there are many unhealthy and aesthetically unappealing spiders out there. My hope is that if supply continues to exceed demand, MAYBE (and hopefully) the importers will not bring anymore in.

My earlier request for empirical data as to in situ population status was an attempt to determine weather these were so beleagured as to justify continual massive importation.
