Yours is a very sensible posting. From everything I've read, you are correct about everything -- especially the night temperature thing. I haven't had my Russian for long, but everything you say seems to be on the money. Mine (4") is in a large indoor encloser (they shouldn't be in fish tanks, in my humble opinion). She is very active and eats a ton.
