It looks like I will be getting a galop. I haven't been able to find an article specific for galop care at the turtle trust or the CTTC web site. I may not be looking in the right place, but would appreciate suggestions. The galop I am considering looks healthy and I am going to take him to a reptile vet. He has been fed mostly grass, but his owner also gives him corn, tomatoes and watermelon. I was under the impression that these were not ideal tortoise foods. I am looking for a really complete list of foods/plants for tortoises (also listing common plants/foods that should be avoided). The CTTC has a relatively short list, as does the turtle trust. Again, I may not be looking in the right place, but I was hoping to find a source that would list most of the common foods/plants/veges/fruits etc.. that I could consult as needed. As an aside, the CTTC recommends alfalfa hay as a food source. I thought that it should be fed in limited amounts, and that other types of hay/grass were preferred. Thanks for any assistance.
