A balanced diet...

Do you really know what a balanced diet is for you???? Probably not.
So the only thing we can do is vary the diet as much as possible in the hopes of hitting it right.
You can feed your animal what ever you want, only the more you restrict it’s diet according to what you think is good or not will only restrict the variety you have to offer which will only lead to a possible imbalance elsewhere.
