I'm glad that you've been so lucky or good (your choice)
I have not. I have run into this on numerous occasions. (unfortunately)
I do not like giving injections for the same reason
I do not like getting them. Therefore I'm going to look into this method
a little closer. If it says anywhere that I recomend this method please
accept my apologies. I do recomend looking into it. I do recomend asking a good
herp vet more about this practice.
As to leaving this stuff to the vets,(in my case)
no can do. That is the main fun of biology...the never ending question...why?
: EJ,
: I have never had a problem with the injectable form of baytril.
: I've used it on my sulcatas and North American box turtles.
: None of them hobbled on three legs or showed any discomfort, except at the time the needle went in.
: Nobody enjoys being pricked by a needle.
: There were no other side effects noted either, in my case.
: I've never heard of a vet precribing oral baytril for tortoises or turtles. But I have been told by my vet that it's not recommended.
: I'm not a veterinarian, and to my knowledge neither are you.
: I say leave these issues to qualified veterinarians.
: Terry.
