John, a couple of important things are related to urate production. Type of food, Hydration, and temperature. Spinich is a no-no.(high in oxalates)(produces some of the white stuff) Dehydration can lead to increased urate output. I add the temperature part. (am I allowed to do that) I found over the years (30 years and 15 years fanaticly) that during low optimal temperatures the urates would come out more solid and chunky regardless of hydration. I notice this in T. greaca, T. kleinmanni, and G. elagans and recently sulcatas.
As to the color, are you by any chance feeding dandelions or just started feeding dandelions?
