pretty much as big as you can make it. I'm glad
your sister is wanting to get him out of the
aquarium, an all glass aquarium is awful for
tortoises. You can look at my site and see my
Tortoise (a sulcata) in his indoor enclosure
and outdoor pens. Almost anything's better than
an aquarium, there are people that keep theirs
in plastic kiddie swimming pools, large rubbermaid
plastic containers, and an assortment of homemade
enclosures. There are also Tortoise Tubs
that can be bought. With the right heat and light
set-up there are lots of possibilities. Of course
the best set-up would be outside, but this isn't
possible year-round in some places. When it is
though, take full advantage of getting the tortoise
into the fresh air, sunlight(with shade of course),
and natural grazing and browsing behaviors. niki
