In May you posted info on how to make ant baits with boric acid. I created several early this week because ants killed my two littlest desert tortoises last weekend. How long should it take before the baits are effective. Swarms of ants have been eating the baits for 3 days now and the globs of peanut butter hardly seems smaller. The ants are still there eating away on them but I wonder how long it should take.
My tortoise pens are in the middle of 5 acres of natural sonoran desert vegetation here in Phoenix. There have been ants in the pens (and everywhere else) for years but this year is the first time I have had a problem. How many baits would you recommend for the pen area of about 5000 square feet?
Thanks in advance.
