Adding plants is a good way to control humidity.
But it also reduces surface area.
If you add plants make sure they're non toxic.
Re-pot them in natural top soil because the fertilizers
might contaminate the substrate. And it could be
injested while feeding. Also leaving them potted
makes removal for cleaning easier and can be used
to keep them out of nibbling range.
Also hingebacks are prone to worms and a soil/potted
substrate will cause problems. Make sure it's
parasite free before this type of change.
