I've seen a couple of posts lately mentioning how this is such a controversial issue and now many are afraid to touch it. Some believe that it is a cut and dry issue, it is not. By not DISCUSSING it it becomes each individuals guess.(very counterproductive) I've been keeping turtles/tortoises for about 30 years now. My collection has cycled from 1 to over 50 animals(about 25 different species)(as far as the shelled kind go) and the only reason I might be hesitant to say that I'm still guessing on the issue of tortoise nutrition is the ignorant attacks from those who know it all already. (but what the heck, their entitled to their ideas and stating them)
This post is for those who are still learning like myself.
I would like to hear from anyone who has kept turtles/tortoises long enough to notice any kind of growth. Note the species, if the growth is 'normal', water availability, diet, and environmental conditions. Please post to me privately if you would rather keep this off list. Thanks to anyone who might be interested in a fact finding discussion.
