info on panacure as wormer
suppliers, producers
: : has anyone got a "dosage measure" for using Panacure for worming torts.
: : I'm not too sure about using internal liquid wormers (ie via the throat)as they seem to be able to regurgitate some / most of it. hence the thought of using a "spreadable" version.
: : thanks

: Graham, I use panacure paste that's 250 mg. The dosage for that amount is 1/10 of a cc for every 10lbs of animal. Not a whole lot when dealing with small torts. You did'nt mention the kind you have or their size. It's kind of hard to measure without the proper tools. The paste usally comes out of the tube the width of cryringe that measures cc's by the tenth. So I just measure from there. Again the tricky part is to make sure they each get the right amount. What I do for larger torts is put the panacure inside a hibiscus flower, they eat the flower in 1 to 2 bites. No problem. But with smaller torts you have to rub it on the food. Separate them to make sure they don't get more than they need. One you've dewormed, repeat in 2 weeks. I usally deworm every 3 to 4 months.
