my best guess to this problem is a vitamin a deficiency.a vet can give injections of the stuff to your turtle.make sure he gets a varied diet cause a deficiency is usually the number one problem causer.

: : I work at a pet store in which i do reptiles. I have been on vacation for A WEEK so today is the first day that i can check the turtles out. One of the boxies has drainage coming out of it's eyes which are swollen shut. What is this condition called....it must go to the vet....right? pleasae help!?

: Yes,
: I would get it to the vet asap.
: How are the box turtles housed?
: Do they have constant access to water, a shallow water bowl they can drink from and get in and out of easily, to soak?
: Is the water kept clean, changed everyday or as soon as it is soiled?
: Is the enclosure humid enough, box turtles need humidity?
: I would get this turtle, and any others showing signs of illness to a vet asap.
: Also print out the linked article on avoiding problems with box turtles. You can even copy it and give it to anybody who buys a box turtle.
: Once this turtle has seen a vet, it may be a good idea to quarantine it from any others.
: Make sure they always have clean water available and that the enclosure is humid.
: You will find more info at the linked page below.
