First I suggest you check out www.anapsid.org and read IN DEPTH. Turtles and Tortoises are not the easy to care for dimestore pets that some people consider them. I am not insulting, I just want you to know what a long term commitment a pet that can live up to 100 years can be. They require UVB and UVA lighting, which is not cheap, undertank heaters, proper substrate, vitamin supplemnts, skin and shell conditioners, special diets that depend on the breed, large living spaces, love and attention, and much much more. If you a really serious about owning one you will check out the site and take my advice.
