I just brought home my new 2 yr old redfoot and had her soaking. My wife let our Australian Shepard out and before I knew it, he was chewing on the new tort. He'd never shown any desire to harm my other turtles but he went to work on this one. The margins of her shell are broken off in several places. She doesn't show any external soft tissue injuries and seems to be acting and moving ok. My herp vet is unavailable tonight. I've cleaned the wounds and applied a herp topical cleaner for cuts, etc. Does anyone have any other suggestions until I can take her to the vet tomorrow morning. I'm pretty upset. It just shows you, you can't trust your dog around them. He's been around torts for all three years of his life and this is the first one he's ever tried to hurt.
