Tortoises and turtles really don't stand much of a chance.
They're either collected for the pet trade, or for the soup pots and medicine jars.
Hunted for food in their natural range, or picked up and taken home by kids who find them in the woods or ponds.
Sea turtles are still hunted for food, or drown in fishing nets.
Much of the tortoises/turtles habitat is also being lost due to construction.
And thousands are run over as they cross the roads to their nesting sites.
