Well, I'd say once you get the plant, if there are leaves, you can pluck them all, replant the plant in the pot with new potting soil (organic), water well, leave in a windowsill and feed new growth. If you are not doing this, wash off leaves with mild soapy water and spray off with clean water..repott with new organic soil, water, and let the plant water thru for about 4 weeks before feeding. Hopefully by then a major portion of the chemicals that might be present in the plant system will have flushed out. Keep in mind though that plants grown with chemicals will always retain some in the plant's root and stem systems so it's always best to grow your own or buy organic.
