: Go to the TT website and read the latest article on microclimates. They do an experiment that is almost right. But they mess up by putting one group of animals in the dreaded "glass tank" with newspaper substrate and the other group in a tortoise table with soil and sand. While they do a good job of keeping everything else constant (heat/light/food) they mess up by not putting both groups in the same enclosure type while varying the substrate. After all the time they spend bad mouthing glass tanks they allow a glass tank to compromise the interpretation of the experiment.
