One of my tortoises is a very small sulcata. He was hatched last August. His name is Dexter. A few months ago was the first time that Dexter had been outside- I live in Portland OR; rainy and grey. Dexter is now used to being out in the big world and he loves to graze on clover.
A few days ago when he was out grazing he started chirping. At first I didn't think it was him, but sure enough he was chirping like a bird. The sound is a simple high pitch chirp and he only does it outside and only when he finds a good patch of clover or when he sees me.
Has anybody else had this experience? Is it normal--or just quirky?
