Kathy:

I keep marginated, hermans, russian and greeks outside year round in Phoenix. They will hibernate on their own. You should provide them a pile of hay or dry grass that they can burrow into. Some of them just burrow under some fountain grass, etc. but they all seem to do just fine. When temps warm up they will become active and they have grass to eat and water. Make sure they are not in a location that will become flooded. They can handle our normal winter rains, but you don't want them to be in a location that will become flooded in a heavy rain.

: Does anyone have med. spur thighs in AZ, So.Cal, So. NM, etc.? Wondering if mine will hibernate this winter (this is his first winter with us) even though our weather stays pretty warm in the winter.
