I have had several species and I would suggest a Russain tort. They are fairly small, dont require moisture, mud or humidity and eat mostly greens. There are also hinge-backs, like the Bells, but in my opinion they are harder to care for because of the food and housing requirements. There is always box turtles, but again they require a huge range of foods and most of them need high humidity too.
