:I generally don't hibernate my Russian tort, but last winter he hibernated himself. I kept him in the apartmentall winter long, and the temperature never got really cold- a little chilly at night but not cold. Sometime in November or December my Russian went into a corner and burried himself in timothy hay he didn't come out until the first part of March. I'm pretty sure that winter temps in Arizona are at least as cold as my apartment if not colder. And med. spur thighed are used to warmer winters than my Russian.
