There are some good dealers down your way. You might look into getting yourself a nice pair of Redfoot tortoises. They seem to be quite abundant about now. Try to find a dealer who has a large selection because the personalities can be quite variable. Look for animals that do not withdraw when you pick them up. Good luck.
: If you have seen any of my other postings, you know that I became mom to 30+ box turtles and two yellow footed torts, when my grandmother died two months ago. Well, they have totally captured my heart. I really like the tort's personality and was thinking about expanding our family. Could you make any recommendations on which variety, should I stick with Yellow footed or add variety to it? I live in Key West, so it is hot and humid all year round. They have full run of a great rock garden set up with foliage and dirt and trees to hide in. It is very "tropical" looking.
