Alot of the big shops are starting to clean up petsmarts in my area have stopped selling green Iguanas.. A friend of mine who breeds leo gecks, beardies, pictus gecks, and starting to work with other animals (he keeps other species as pets only) recently took a managment job at our local Petco and it has done wonders to the reptile side. The local store does sell several cb animals also. personnaly though I do not purchase many reptiles from petshops.. I like going direct to the breeder (to their facilty if possible) to get a better history on the animal.. I'll pass up on most snakes now with out a datacard on feeding, shedding and growth. The best ways to solve problems is to do what you tell others buy only top notch stock and confront the problem at the source. The managers and employees of the local store are not completely responsible for the animals thery recieve.. Every store gets shipped what the Main office is putting on special. So email Petco headquarters, Petsmart's et cetra....... If they get enough of them they will start rolling the wheel// maybe slow but progress is progress.. One thing I have made a point of doing is when my local store gets a new specie in is to make sure they know how to care for it and what to tell people to expect from them...
