The issue is not how well our WC's are doing (although that's a bonus), the issue is how many eggs (and viable hatchlings) would the female have produced in the wild to keep the species strong? Russians are notoriously barren in captivity so far, although I have heard of a few that have produced eggs (waiting to see whether or not there are hatchlings). I agree with your decision not to breed the sulcatas; there are enough sulcata hatchlings for sale at $25 each without our help.
