Good for you, your about to embark on a husbandry experience that is going to be very rewarding.

I myself used to house snakes, but have always kept tortoises and you would be surprised to find out that not many people do keep them or have the expertise to do so. By getting involved in keeping chelonians you become a credit to keepers
all over the world.

Terry has laid out the best avenues for you to take. Best of effort to you and never be afraid to ask questions. Good having you in the tribe..lol
