Keep trying I want to see them!
I just completed my Russian enclosure. It's 20'- 8' one wall is the side of the house, and has a nice hedge for shade. I planted some edible plants in the enclosure, and nice flowers all along the outside walls, to hide the wood.
My hubby and some of his friends built it last weekend.
It took them all day but that was due to the beer breaks!
They went through 5 cases of beer, played Pink Floyd all day, then the wives came over and we had a Barbque!
I've found this is the best way to build an enclosure, my husband doesn't complain as much if we turn it into a sort of a Party.
I don't have photos yet, but hope to have some soon of all my turtles/ torts and their enclosures.
I got a female Russian yesterday. I got her from a little pet store that I don't usually go to, but I wanted a female for Grizzly my male.
I called around and this store had just one Russian tort, a female.
The tortoise was in a very clean enclosure, no mess , clean substrate and had a nice pile of hibiscus flowers to nibble on. I was really impressed and bought her home. Guess what, no parasites, clean.
I have put a divider down the center of the enclosure male in one side, female the other.
They will stay like this for around 6 months before meeting.
The divider can easily be removed or put back if needs be.
By far their favorite place is a nice pile of leaves I gave them both, up under the hedge against the wall.
Anyway Sonja, please keep trying I'd love to see your pics!
Terry.
