Shelly,
some nurserys sell plants that have been grown without pestisides and chemical fertilizers.
I believe Marissa's care sheet has a link to buy organic Hibiscus.
I have bought all my plants from the local outdoor store, and I've never had any problems at all.
You can keep the plants for a few weeks before planting in the enclosure.
Take it out of the pot trim it, rinse it off with fresh water. Then repot it, give it a few weeks and it should be fine to plant in the enclosure.
You can also inquire at the store if they have used any chemicals on the plant.
As I said I have never had any problems using this method. To feed the leaves or flowers off a newly bought plant that has been treated could cause problems.Or to put down newly bought grass flats, is also a bad idea.
But if you keep rinsing it off, trim it and wait a few weeks it should be fine.
Terry.
: I have one sulcata that is approximately 9 months old and is about 3". I have tried growing plants from seeds because I didn't want to buy them from a nursery because of the pesticides and such that they use.
