The Vivarium, volume 11, number 2 (a couple months ago) had an article on star tortoises.

I raise star tortoises and I'm sure others on the forum do also. If you have any specific questions I'm sure there are a number of people that will assist.

Stars are great looking tortoises and since only captive born stars are available in the U. S. they should be fairly easy to take care of.
