: I have recently bought a russian toroise and he was doing fine until I moved.
: The moved cuased him to be very inactive and he accumulates mucus over his eyes overnight.
: He was in wood chips but I changed his substrate to pea gravel, sand and soil.
: If anybody has any suggestions on how to help the poor guy, it would be greatly appreciated.
: thanx
I have heard that many wood chips are toxic to turtles and tortoises. They have oils in the chips that are very bad.
the only wood chips that are ok are Cypress and Orchid barks.
