Pat, while most if not all the information here, particularly where diet is concerned, is excellent info. I would suggest you look long and hard at the idea of hibernating your tortoise. It may sound like a simple task but in reality it is far from it. It is even debatable that hibernating is even necessary in captive tortoises and turtles with the possible exception that it might be required as a breeding que. You have all summer to look into it. Be careful. I personally recommend against it for at least the first couple of years.
