this is the reason I avoid pet stores!

It was hard for many reasons.
A new species means a new enclosure, far from the others, planted and set up specificly with that species in mind. So we had to be sure we could provide that,
we could.
That was the easy part then came the WC questions, supporting the trade, cross contamination etc.

As you know after I decided that Grizzly was coming home I had a bit of a panick attack!
I'm very glad we got him, but won't be adding any more WC tortoises, it's too much of a risk even with strict quarantine and no species mixing.
I must have washed and scrubbed my hands at least 50 times yesterday!

I have my thoughts on the trade in WC tortoises, but will keep them to myself.

When Grizzly has settled in I hope to send some photos of my torts and turts and their enclosures to Teresa to put on her site.
So you'll be able to get a look at the little Russian exile that caused me so much worry!
