thats a great idea! on my handout for kids i always list these: tortoisetrust.org (sorry niki) and turtletimes.com kingsnake.com sonic.net/~melissk nraac.org and home.earthlink.net/~rednine/index.html and desertusa.com/animal.html

i also have a picture of turtle insides so they can see why they get suffocated if they turn over and it also has a picture of different types of turtle feet so they can see the difference betgween a pond turtle and a sea turtle and a tortoise. i also have a picture of a turtle skeleton so they can see how the backbone is fused to the shell. i acutally had a teacher that was teaching that a turtle was an invertibrate (?) or is it vertibrate (?) anyway, she was saying that turtles didn't have skeletons that they were like snails and grasshoppers with their skeletal system on the outside! it's amazing the stuff everyone loves to hear. i also have a list a whole page long about how turtles are abused. everyone is always shocked at this. the wildlife dept here loves it that i go over this because it teaches kids how NOT to treat turtles! good luck.
