Yes - that question...do you have a Testudo graeca- (Med.) Spur-thighed or a Geochelone sulcata - (African) Spurred tortoise?
Feeding flowers wouldn't be spoiling, they are great additions to a basic tortoise diet.
Edible flowers include hibiscus, rose, nasturtium, pansy, viola, petunia...all must be pesticide free. An edible plants list can be found at www.turtlecafe.net.
Marissa was right, Romaine is not a good staple diet. Fruit should not be a part of your tortoise's diet. What other vegetarian items are you feeding?
You should plant a grazing mix that is comprised of many grasses and weeds.
Spineless opuntia cactus is a also a good item to feed.
If you must feed grocery greens, feed a wide variety, not just Romaine. Things like chickory, endive, escarole, watercress, and collard greens can be made into a salad. Avoid spinach, kale, and brocoli.
You can buy grazing mix and cactus at the above website and also at www.turtlestuff.com.
Many people also feed Timothy Hay or Orchard Grass to their tortoises.
