Injured tortoise

I just got home from work and when I checked on my pair of tortoises I saw that the male has a cut above his right eye and it looks like it was bleeding a little bit but has since stopped. I put him in a seperate tank, should I wash his eye with water or what should I do ? I am really concerned, this is my first pair of tortoises, I have owned aquatics for the past 6 years and never had a problem!

I would appreciate any help with this situation !
