Considering it seems that you see it more in
the African and Madagascar species, it makes one think that it is either genetic, or inherent. Granted protein overload could also be a culprit,
but I think it goes to a much deeper level. How
many Aldabra's have you ever seen all bumpy? and
they have been recorded eating carrion as well as
their own species. The biggest symptom of pyramiding I've ever seen, is the amount of arguing that goes on about it online. Any substansial fact would be appreciated.
