i've treated two redfoots with tetracycline (not sure if my spelling is correct, but should be close). i injected 2-3 drops into each nostril each morning for two weeks. all symptoms disapeared and have not returned (over 10 months ago). i do believe that this would not have worked nearly as well if proper husbandry wasn't practiced. my torts. are in a large outdoor enclosure in which i observed both sick torts. basking in direct florida sunshine for several hours a day, while under the treatment. i think the natural light and free airflow are just as important as any antibiotic.
good luck,
steve
