I work for a vet and always de-worm all my torts and turts pretty much first thing after I get them. I do it two differnt ways:
1. Run a tube directly to the stomach and give them flagyl and panacure this way. This works better in weak torts.
2. Suspend the meds in grenadine, sometimes they will eat this on their own. I also have mixed flagyl into a measured amount of soaked mazuri tortoise chow that they eat on their own.
Flagyl usually needs to be repeated in two weeks, panacur we usually do once, it depends on the parasite being treated. I saw you mention flukes..i am not familiar with flukes in torts because tapeworm needs an intermidiate host (the flea)to continue their life cycle, and I've never seen a tort with fleas!! This doesn't mean they can't get them, I suppose, I'm just not familiar with them.
I reccommend bringing the animal and a fecal sample to your vet for a weight anda fecal float. Depending on the type of tortoise, I am now screening all african torts for heximita parva, a parasite found in the urine. Your vet can look for that in a direct drop of urine and it is treated with flagyl.
I always recommend your vet dose the meds, usually 100mg/kg, especially if they need to be put in liquid to administer.
