I think what most people were saying is that pyramiding may not be a matter of simple protein consumption but perhaps the ratio of protein to calcium or other not so obvious factors. For example, it is not simply the foods highest in calcium that you want to feed your tortoise but foods high in calcium compared to phosphorous along with concern for other dietary elements that may effect calcium's absorbtion once in the body. Protein may have similar trade-offs. What IS the correct protein/calcium ratio and at what amount is the ratio invalid? Why don't you do the flat-landers a favor and publish your results.
