Dear all,
I had my spider tortoises out in the garden yesterday and wouldn`t you know it - the sun and fresh dandelion flowers must have put them "in the mood" as after an hour or so the male made a bee-line, from a distance of about 15 feet, for the female and as soon as he found her he mounted. She seemed perfectly happy with the arrangement and they stayed like that for about 15 minutes, after which the male wandered off for some more grazing. While mounted the male madd continuous bobbing motions with his head extended, but didn`t utter a sound. I did get a few photos of the happy couple, so I`ll get them developed tomorrow and try to post them for you all to see.
Nigel
