Can you guys beleive this one? my husband came home today with a leopard tortoise, but the story is whats interesting. Apparantly a man came into one of his retail outlets(pet supplies) and told the girl there he had an ornate box turtle he didn't want anymore because he heard they could make you sick. So, the girl takes the "turtle" and called my husband, knowing we do turtle rescue. He got there and took the "ornate box turtle" home. When he came through the door, he said "you'll never beleive this" and what do you know? A LEOPARD TORTOISE!!! I can't beleive it!! Thats 3 in the last 6 weeks I have taken in...is there some kind of run on these guys in the pet stores I don't know about?
My only concern is that he seems lightweight...does anyone have any insight to this? I am comparing him to my redfoot, who is definatly heavier. My last one was very under weight as well....any thoughts?
thanks, kelly
