I used rabbit pellets at first also, but almost
100 pounds of the stuff DID smell like a barn
very strongly when fresh, and continued to linger.
Besides the horrific weight, (ask my garbage men).
Now, to my great relief! I use 100% aspen (Wal-Mart
brand, not pet shop) mixed with Kenaf Plant Lizard
Litter (pet shop/shows). No smell. Mine eats
outside of his enclosure but I suppose you could
also feed him off of a big paper plate.
Other suggestions are good also: Care Fresh,
newspaper (you can shred it up too, make a "bed")
timothy hay (Teddy's bed piles are this) has less
strong odor than alfalfa.
Dump the corncob in any case. Too risky for impaction.
I think I'd go with the newspaper right now until
the "dust settles" so to speak! lol niki
