: I have a fairly large indoor vivarium housing a male russian and a small sulcata along with a pair of button quail the substrate is a combination of soil and gravel. Some of the quail food has rooted and made a nice little lawn for the tortoises to graze on. I also have some rosemary planted in the vivarium and it freshens the air considerably.
